T4: Developing Data Acumen (Literacy) Across the Board

Data literacy is all the rage. But it is not easy to get from concept to practice.
First, “literacy” falls short. It is more than reading and communicating. Second, your entire organization is short on data acumen – everyone, including you. Third, leadership is made of smart people, and it is not easy to communicate that they need to acquire new skills.
Achieving across-the-board acumen that will guarantee a successful experience with data is a function of good material, training, and motivation. Attendees of this half-day session will learn:
- The real meaning of data literacy – it is not what you think
- What data people need to know to engage leadership in growing data acumen and literacy
- How to establish a relevant curriculum and material for data literacy
We will use an exercise to build an approach, and each attendee will leave with a checklist to start a literacy roadmap.
